MEDICAL DISCOURSE IN MODERN RUSSIAN: LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE ASPECTS

Abstract
The article examines medical discourse as a distinctive type of institutional communication realized in modern Russian at the intersection of scientific, professional, and mass communication. A systematic analysis is conducted of two complementary dimensions of this phenomenon: the linguistic dimension, focused on the language means shaping the medical text and utterance (terminological system, stylistic stratification of genres, metaphorization), and the communicative dimension, revealing the models of interaction between participants of medical communication as well as the strategies and tactics of their speech behavior. The study identifies points of intersection of these directions within the framework of institutional discourse theory, linguopragmatics, and the theory of communicative strategies. Based on a comparison of traditional (paternalistic) and modern (partnership, informational) models of doctor–patient communication, the dynamics of medical discourse are substantiated, driven by the humanization of medicine and the digitalization of channels for disseminating medical knowledge.Keywords
