IMPROVING THE METHODOLOGY OF INTEGRATING NATIONAL CULTURAL COMPONENTS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION

Abstract

This article is devoted to the issues of improving the methodology of integrating national cultural components in the process of English language education. The main problem of the research is that traditional English lessons often teach only the target language culture (British, American, etc.), while students' skills to express their own national culture in a foreign language are neglected. This leads to gaps in intercultural communication. The purpose of the article is to develop innovative methodological models for the effective inclusion of elements of national culture in the educational process to develop students' intercultural communicative competence. The research methodology is based on qualitative and quantitative approaches, including pedagogical observation, experiment, questionnaire survey, and comparative analysis of existing textbooks. The study involved 150 students and 20 teachers. The results show that when texts and role-plays reflecting national values, customs, and historical heritage are included in lessons, students' language proficiency increased by 24%, and their confidence in expressing their culture in a foreign language significantly increased. In conclusion, it is noted that the integration of national culture increases motivation to learn a foreign language and makes the student an equal participant in global communication. This approach is of great scientific and practical importance for language programs of higher educational institutions.
