ISSUES IN THE DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF C1LEVEL STUDENTS IN LITERARY TRANSLATION

Abstract

This article considers the theoretical and methodological foundations for developing the professional competencies of C1-level students in the field of literary translation. It analyzes the interrelationship among linguistic, literary, intercultural, strategic, translation-related, and pragmatic competencies that must be developed in the process of literary translation. It also explores the potential of modern pedagogical approaches and interactive methods aimed at developing students’ skills in analyzing literary texts, understanding an author’s style, accurately conveying national and cultural characteristics, and making informed choices regarding translation strategies. The article argues that the use of methods such as case studies, problem-based learning (PBL), peer review, and collaborative translation contributes to improving the quality of literary translation through the comprehensive development of professional competencies among C1-level students. The results of the study have practical significance for improving the methodology of teaching literary translation in higher education institutions and enhancing the professional training of future translators.
