Abstract
This study evaluated the effectiveness of a mass-sport program for increasing university students’ daily physical activity. A pre–post quasi-experimental design was implemented from September to December 2024 with 420 students from four higher education institutions. The eight-week “Stay Active” program combined morning exercise, a sports week, a “6,000 Steps” initiative, motivational seminars, digital challenges, and wellness sessions for female students. By the end of the program, mean daily steps had increased from 4,300 to 8,700 (+102%), weekly sports sessions from 1.3 to 3.6 (+177%), and the proportion of students rating their physical condition as good from 34% to 68%. Physical health and psychological status were positively correlated (r=0.62, p<0.01). The findings support integrating organizational, motivational, and digital components in university mass-sport initiatives aimed at sustainable daily activity. Keywords
