THE ARTISTIC REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN'S INNER WORLD IN ENGLISH LITERATURE: INTERPRETATION WITHIN NATIONAL-CULTURAL PRINCIPLES

Abstract

Throughout history, literary works have depicted the image of women differently, influenced by the socio-political climate, religious beliefs, and cultural factors of each era. English literature has witnessed significant tendencies in portraying women’s inner world, shaped by religious views, gender roles, and national-cultural factors. This study explores these tendencies in English literature through different historical periods, focusing on the Victorian Medieval era and the Victorian period. By analyzing literary texts, such as the works of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Walter Scott, Charles Dickens, and Virginia Woolf, this paper examines how stylistic devices are used to portray women's emotions, struggles, and societal 35 ALFRAGANUS xalqaro ilmiy jurnal https://journals.afu.uz/ ISSN: 2992 - 8974 № 3 (14). 2025 expectations.This study contributes to understanding the literary strategies used to convey female characters’ depth and complexity.
